A quick BTW

By the way... That Doc Who episode called "The Doctor's Daughter" was great in many ways. But she wasn't exactly his daughter you know, which was a kind of a letdown for me at least. Genetic multiplier schmultiplier or something, I don't know. Mayor plot holes ahoy! Liked it, but was annoyed.

Very annoyed. Next ep is Moffat, so I hope that'll make up for it. Moffat's the best writer on Dr Who if you were wondering. Always wins tons of prizes.

Happy (late) Towel Day!

Because Douglas Adams rocks! I couldn't celebrate it properly because I had to work but I thought about it and looked longingly at my Don't Panic towel. It's my pride and joy. Lost 500 kronor at work so that sucked, but I'm trying to forget it (repression is great!).
Love and kisses to the whole, wide universe!

I have a crush on Jeremy Brett

Yeah, seriously. He's so intense and alive, which is so the wrong word because he died in 1995. But when I see those old episodes of Sherlock Holmes I just know that he's still out there somewhere. Those sudden mood swings he has, when his face changes with a really sharp twist. He can be lost inside his own thought one minute and then suddenly smiles that cynical, ironic smile. I don't even know if I'm speaking about the actor or the character any more. The best of it is that I have a million episodes left on my giant complete collection of Sherlock Holmes. I'm going to savor it.

In other news, I'm warming toward David Burke (the first Watson) who I at first thought to be an utter idiot. Seriously, he plays that role like an slow-witted third grader. Watson deserves more credit than that. Anyone would look stupid beside Holmes. No, the real problem with Burke is that he is acting Watson, while Brett is Holmes. The second Watson, Edward Hardewicke, is much more natural in that way. But still, Burke has some boyish charm I suppose... Well, at least he's younger. Anyway I've gotten used to him and his open mouth and staring eyes (standard expression when dealing with Holmes). As long as he doesn't drool.

Not that I wouldn't blame him because Holmes/Brett is droolable... ^_^

The Daughter

Here she is, the Doctor's Daughter. She's played by Georgia Moffett, who is Peter Davison's daughter in real life and Davison played the Fifth Doctor! So she really, really is the Doctor's Daughter. Cool huh?

Dr Who: The Poison Sky (4.05) + the Time War

Wow. No, I mean... Wow! The ep was alright, very exciting and so on. But it's the little things that really stick. Rose on the screen in the TARDIS for about half a second. Where is she? Is she going to get out of there? Is she going to get back to Earth? The real Earth I mean. No, our Earth. It's pretty cool that they don't wait 'til the last episodes to show her. Like the build up.

No, I'm no very coherent today. Didn't sleep too well. Well... I did sleep well, but then I woke up to early. Anyway! Most exciting is the new episode called "The Doctor's Daughter". Since I haven't seen "old" Dr Who and the new series have been very hush hush about the Doctor's past and family and so on I don't know much about him really. Time Lord. Alien. Gallifrey. Children. Married? All dead. That's pretty much it. So I didn't get to excited when I read the title of the next episode on the Internet because it could be some other doctor. A doctor without the capital "D". But it is him. And it is his daughter and that's so cool!!!

Question #1: How did she hide? The Doctor claimed he could "sense" other Time Lords (or is that Ladies when they're women?).
Question #2: How did she survive the Time War? I assume she was in the war, but frankly don't know because they haven't told us much about it.
Question #3: What is the Time War? When is the Time War? (Oooh, that's a complicated question for sure).

I have to look into it.

OK, so... According to Wiki the Time War has only been referred to so far. Maybe we'll get a flashback? But that would probably mean another Doctor and... this is getting confusing. Was it Nine or Eighth or someone else who fought in the war? This is the problem when people regenerate!
